A hand-drawn, digitally finished fine art print of the Sharp GF-777.
With its imposing speakers and striking red-and-black promos boasting 90W output, few boomboxes capture the excess of the early 1980s like it. The GF-777 remains a spectacular example of an era when portable audio was anything but discreet.
• I start with a 1:2-scale pencil drawing
• This is then inked in using pigment fineliners
• The hand-drawn ink is scanned
• Up to 300 layers of detail and colour are added digitally
• Prints, professionally produced on satin-finish photopaper using archival ink, will be available from spring 2027
