SONY HIFI PRINT

A hand-drawn, digitally finished fine art print of the Sony S770ES tuner (1991-92), E80ES preamplifier (1989-96), X77ES CD player (1989-91), K970ES tape deck (1991-92) and N80ES amplifier (1989-94).

Sony's ES (Elevated Standard) range represented the company's commitment to high-end audio, combining exceptional engineering with an understated, unmistakably Japanese design aesthetic. Also available in black, these examples are finished in champagne gold with distinctive wooden side panels.

THE PROCESS

•  I start with a 1:2-scale pencil drawing
•  This is then inked in using pigment fineliners
•  The hand-drawn ink is scanned
•  Up to 300 layers of detail and colour are added digitally
•  Prints, professionally produced on satin-finish photopaper using archival ink, will be available from spring 2027
