PHILIPS HIFI PRINT

A hand-drawn, digitally finished fine art print of the Philips F-1463 (1984-86).

This distinctive system from the mid-’80s, with clean lines, bold controls and unmistakable period styling, is Philips hifi at its most characterful. Its big brother, the FCD-483, featured a CD player.

THE PROCESS

•  I start with a 1:2-scale pencil drawing
•  This is then inked in using pigment fineliners
•  The hand-drawn ink is scanned
•  Up to 300 layers of detail and colour are added digitally
•  Prints, professionally produced on satin-finish photopaper using archival ink, will be available from spring 2027
